Chef Jordi Vilà trained and worked in various restaurants such as Casa Irene, Neichel, Vivanda, Joan Piqué and Jean Luc Figueras, before opening restaurant Alkimia in Barcelona in 2002.
He also owns a number of other restaurants including Saltimbocca, Dopo, Vivianda, Velodrome and Moritz.
Jordi Vilà manages to capture a casual and vibrant ambience, while serving high level food at good prices. This recipe seems to attract a number of followers.
On the day of the visit, he was kind enough to let us in the kitchen for photographs and chatting. He had an approachable quality about him which was admirable. But we did not get to talk a lot due to the language barrier.
