Mountains, 1-day Trips, Breathtaking views
"As close to God as it gets."

Ever heard of the Black Mary (not Bloody Mary)? Well, she lives there, right next to the golden altar. Heavenly location, breathtaking, multi peaked mountain view, an ancient monastery and fresh air. Convinced yet? Montserrat is truly a hidden gem, a must see for tourist as it is considered as the spiritual center of Catalonia (1h from Barcelona)

The mountains Sant Jeroni, Montgrós, and Miranda de les Agulles at an altitude of 1km, surround the Benedictine abbey, Santa Maria de Montserrat, home of the Virgin of Montserrat sanctuary. Once you are there, if you want more and you are not afraid of heights, the Funicular de Sant Joan goes up to the top of the mountain, where you can see abandoned hovels in the cliff faces that were previously the abodes of reclusive monks, whilst the Funicular de Santa Cova descends to a shrine. There is also a small hotel and restaurant adjacent if you want to stay over when the tourists leave...
