"Challenging to get up there through the steep pathways."

Only historic ruins remain today on top of the hill that the Cathar castles, Chateaux de Lastours, once stood proud. It is a workout and a challenge to get up there through the steep pathways and the hot weather, but it is an option if you pay a small fee.

Just make sure you pack your water and wear hiking shoes.

Once you get up the Chateaux de Lastours, there is a nice green view of the area.

There is also a fine restaurant at its base.
