"Dan Browns's Angels & Demons 'Chigi Chapel', plus Raphael & Caravaggio."

The Augustinian church has a Baroque facade and a richly appointed interior. The glorious interior features huge columns covered in warm red marble, paintings adoring the walls and sculptures. And not just any paintings or sculptures. Santa Maria del Popolo houses works by some of the most famous artists in the world such as Raphael, Bernini and Caravaggio.

Santa Maria del Popolo recently became a popular subject, due to Dan Browns's Angels and Demons, as it contains the Chigi Chapel originally started by Raphael and completed by Bernini.
